OMG i am super excited now. was really reluctant to come back to taylor after all those fun summer times..but..now that i'm back.. i'm PSYCHED!!!! :) it was kinda funny how quickly i adapted back to my pseudo american/singlish accent the moment i got off the plane and met my frens who came to the airport to pick me up. haha.
ANW. orientation was SUPER DUPER FUN!!!! so sad it's over. we have AWESOME freshmen this year! hope i'll see them around alot. 2 korean guys!! one a missionary kid frm china so he speaks chi too. haha. he's funny. finally more asian guys arnd! no asian girls though. sigh. isn't it funny how i get so excited when i see an asian here..but like back home it's like asians everywhere?? haha. everyone's just amazing. i got to be on the welcome team..to wave welcome signs and jump around madly when a freshman arrived with the family..it was fun.
so sunday was the banquet dinner..where pple sorta dressed up. my table was one of the asian tables..with missionaries from china and indonesia..so that was kinda cool. and then we played name games..and on mon and tue i got to play guit for worship..that was cool. cuz alot of guys came up to me afterwards to ask about/borrow my guit..and i got a chance to advertise for TCA (taylor christian artists)!! hahaha. so i managed to recruit a few guys interested in being in TCA. yay!
speaking of TCA..was kinda regretting taking up that leadership position..didn't know how big of a deal it was gonna be!! apparently it's a pretty big responsibility!! i was kinda freaking out early on this week..going to leadership day conference and seeing all the other student leaders on campus. kinda made me panicky. cuz all these pple seem like wonderful natural-born leaders, and here i am, all inadequate and a small sophomore..but the speaker during the conference really helped. reminded me that God has a reason for putting me in this position, and that He specifically chose me for it, so it's not by my might, nor by power, but by the Spirit. and i'll just have to trust God for guidance and wisdom and LOTS of courage n confidence for this year :) just came back from our leaders retreat..kinda nice gettin to know the rest of the cabinet..and planning stuff for TCA with my co-director..we got each other excited thinkin about new plans for the year!!! we're gonna have an awesome worship night among other stuff!!! :)
and also i just moved in to olson hall!!! wayy excited to meet the new pple on my wing. this is gona be an awesome year!!! :)
