stressed already

haha. to think i was so excited about classes. i am SO stressed out now!!! how....

feels like i have so much stuff to do this semester and not enough time to accomplish everything. the first day of class i was piled with a huge paper to write and a presentation to give. and ALL my classes are like speaking classes. not the kind where u can sit back and slack and not be noticed. nooo..i had to choose classes where we have to give presentations and everything! sigh. i hate speaking in public. gonna be so intimidated this sem. feeling really overwhelmed now. sooo much stuff to get ready for TCA..other leadership stuff i have to do..haven't even gotten to know the girls on my wing yet!

really really intimidated by this christian ed class i'm taking - personal foundations. it's like all about yourself. we have to give presentations abt ourselves and our spiritual lives..and i'm not comfortable sharing with complete strangers abt my past and how i'm doing spiritually now. it's hard! and everyone else is so freely open and i'm like...it's weird opening up to pple i don't know. oh well. guess it's gonna be a challenging sem. plus i'm taking intro to astronomy. omg. such a bad choice. the prof drones on in a monotonous voice for THREE hours straight every wed night. i nearly died ystdy trying to stay awake.

omg now that classes are starting tmr.. i so do not want them to start!! hahaha. anw..ystdy me n sung ah finally managed to find a ride to walmart!!! even though it was like midnight..we still appreciated it :) cuz we got carpets, food, all that useful stuff!!

AND omg i'm so totally scarred FOR LIFE!!!! on the way there, jason (who drove us) was being all scary and driving really really fast and then suddenly out of nowhere we saw a possum scuttle across the road!! and he attempted to slow down to avoid hitting the possum, but WE TOTALLY HIT IT!! it was like bump, bump. and i was screaming in terror cuz the possum is so POOR THING!!! gross gross gross. i'm traumatised. and he laughed it off!!! cuz it wasn't his first 'hit-and-run'. ewwwww.

anw today we MOVED IN!!! from like 10am to 4pm..moving stuff frm storage to our room..setting things up in the room.. now we finally have a real room!!! instead of sleeping in sleeping bags for the past few days!! YAY! super tired now though. now we have a fridge! and tons of food! and a comfy chair! only thing we're missing is a tv! but decided not to get one..cuz i'll never leave the room if we had a tv. haha. really happy about my new room. will try and take pics to show soon!!! :)

so been really free ystdy and today...so i'm perpetually online!!! boreddd. done with orientation n leadership stuff..so just waiting for monday when i can get all my stuff out of summer storage..and also waiting for classes to start. pretty excited abt classes now!! been livin like a nomad with sung ah (my roomie) cuz olson's like unbelievably HOT. and we have no fans. they're all in storage. so we've been sleeping over in pple's rooms in swallow..bergwall..haha. it's kinda fun though. like an extended camp. it's fun seeing everyone moving in today though. girls have sooo much stuff. not like guys. they just have a tv, a couch and computer. that's like all they need in life. and video games too.

oh! ystdy we taught paul (this missionary kid frm china) how to do laundry.. OMG. doing laundry has NEVER been so entertaining!!!! he was completely, utterly clueless!!! totally hilarious. and his excuse for not knowing was 'i'm frm china!' haha.

and on a completely random and fun note, i wish i were younger!!!!! the freshmen guys this year are like HOT! aaacck. ok. i must focus on other good stuff in life. :) and..walking into the DC today for lunch.. i was hit by the oh-too-familiar smell of sunday lunch, which is basically the same every single week. pasta, some form of bland, limp veggies, mashes potatoes, bread and chicken. gosh! don't they get sick of cooking that?? but today's church was good. went to exit 59..this supposedly more charismatic church arnd. not bad. but not great i guess. can't wait for mon where i can get my stuff!!!!

yay for a new SEM!!

OMG i am super excited now. was really reluctant to come back to taylor after all those fun summer times..but..now that i'm back.. i'm PSYCHED!!!! :) it was kinda funny how quickly i adapted back to my pseudo american/singlish accent the moment i got off the plane and met my frens who came to the airport to pick me up. haha.

ANW. orientation was SUPER DUPER FUN!!!! so sad it's over. we have AWESOME freshmen this year! hope i'll see them around alot. 2 korean guys!! one a missionary kid frm china so he speaks chi too. haha. he's funny. finally more asian guys arnd! no asian girls though. sigh. isn't it funny how i get so excited when i see an asian here..but like back home it's like asians everywhere?? haha. everyone's just amazing. i got to be on the welcome team..to wave welcome signs and jump around madly when a freshman arrived with the family..it was fun.

so sunday was the banquet dinner..where pple sorta dressed up. my table was one of the asian tables..with missionaries from china and indonesia..so that was kinda cool. and then we played name games..and on mon and tue i got to play guit for worship..that was cool. cuz alot of guys came up to me afterwards to ask about/borrow my guit..and i got a chance to advertise for TCA (taylor christian artists)!! hahaha. so i managed to recruit a few guys interested in being in TCA. yay!

speaking of TCA..was kinda regretting taking up that leadership position..didn't know how big of a deal it was gonna be!! apparently it's a pretty big responsibility!! i was kinda freaking out early on this week..going to leadership day conference and seeing all the other student leaders on campus. kinda made me panicky. cuz all these pple seem like wonderful natural-born leaders, and here i am, all inadequate and a small sophomore..but the speaker during the conference really helped. reminded me that God has a reason for putting me in this position, and that He specifically chose me for it, so it's not by my might, nor by power, but by the Spirit. and i'll just have to trust God for guidance and wisdom and LOTS of courage n confidence for this year :) just came back from our leaders retreat..kinda nice gettin to know the rest of the cabinet..and planning stuff for TCA with my co-director..we got each other excited thinkin about new plans for the year!!! we're gonna have an awesome worship night among other stuff!!! :)

and also i just moved in to olson hall!!! wayy excited to meet the new pple on my wing. this is gona be an awesome year!!! :)

back in ulu indy

so...i'm back. staying at the daudts' house (they're sponsors of mukappa) with the other girls who are helping out with orientation. the guys stay somewhere else. anw..the plane ride was AWFULLY HORRIBLE. turbulence like every other hour on my 15hr ride from hongkong to chicago. blehh. can't even go toilet. at least i was sittin at the aisle. next to this angmoh guy who kept offering me food. haha.

AND the stupid united airlines (note to self - don't ever take northwest OR united ever again) lost my luggage. only my guit arrived. so upset can cry! but then went for dinner and then back to the airport to pick someone else up..and by then God answered my prayer and my bags arrived! thank thank thank God. wouldn't be able to survive without my bags. seriously. so..slept alot wed night and last night. slept my jet lag away.

yayy. feeling better today. nothing much to do though. only planning for worship. and waiting excitedly for the new freshman to arrive! yay! :) so been catchin up with everyone abt their summer..they all asked me how matchmaking went. haha. i said it takes time for couples to get married. can't believe i'm back here though. feels like i just left ystdy.

at first didn't really wanna leave sgp. at all. like really didn't. think cuz i've been back for 3 months it feels like the same. so cannot bear to leave again!! but now that i'm here..i'm excited for the new yr to start!! besides, i'll be back soon! i roughly checked out my schedule..think my exams end on wed night!!!!! aahhh! so i can maybe be back arnd fri night!! so maybe can go see u guys at the adventure camp.. :) anw yup! cont to pray for me that i'll get settled in well..moving in and everything. loves!

so....can't believe how fast summer has zoomed by. school's starting soon!! mixed feelings. half looking forward to orientation n meeting new people n new classes n stuff, but half wanting to never leave good old shopping n food paradise s'pore! really dun wanna go back to ulu-ness! sigh. feel kinda bad too. everyone's been making good use of their summer hol. except me! pple are like, going on mission trips..doing ministry for kids..helping out in summer camps..making themselves useful..and what am i doing??? um. slacking and hanging out with friends n family. heh. that's nice. and useless!!!

oh well. don't care. i like slacking. and i didn't slack that much. there were the thousand and one church camps i went to/helped out in. plus i totally lost weight! like 5kg i think. my pants are looser. haha. i'm convinced it's the food. evil american food!!!!! pure tempting evil. speaking of food.. i'm craving sambal stingray. AGAIN! for the 5th time this wk. just love it.

i love my family. overflowing with love for my bros. they're so adorable. who cares if they're not 7yrs old anymore. so cute. i love that i can squeeze jedi's cheeks anytime i want now. haha. gonna have another family photo shoot on fri! yay! and my ah ma..forever stuffing me with food. but it's food home-cooked food. :) feeling very loved.
